Hello Anderson Mill Neighbors,
October is almost here, and with it comes one of our favorite community traditions—National Night Out on Tuesday, October 7! This is a wonderful chance to connect with neighbors, strengthen friendships, and build a safer, more welcoming community.
It’s still not too late to host a block party on your street—big or small, every gathering makes a difference. If you’d like to host, sign up today and register your party here.
A big thank you to our community partners who make these celebrations possible: HEB for providing gift cards to help with party supplies, the Anderson Mill Limited District for their support in promoting National Night Out, and our newest sponsor, Snarf’s Sandwiches, for providing delicious food for neighbors to enjoy. Be sure to thank them when you see them and show your support!
Business Spotlight - AMNA's Newest Sponsor!
Snarf’s Sandwich Shop, at Plaza 183 (13405 N US HWY #239A, Austin, 78750)

Founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1996, Snarf’s has grown to nearly 50 locations in Colorado, Texas, and Missouri. Famous for hearty oven-toasted subs made with premium ingredients and its own pepper blend, Snarf’s is a frequent “best sandwich” winner. Each location is quirky and original, often restoring old buildings and featuring custom mosaics and eclectic décor that add to its fun, down-to-earth atmosphere. The menu includes favorites like Italian, prime rib, French dip, and New York steak, plus fresh salads, soups, vegetarian and gluten-free options—including great gluten-free bread—and full catering.

The Anderson Mill location opened in August 2025. For almost 30 years, Snarf's has been dedicated to giving back to their neighborhood communities. When approached to become a sponsor for our neighborhood's National Night Out Parties they immediately signed on and will be providing party hosts with some delicious food! Neighbors, let’s show our support for a business that supports our community! Take your family or meet friends at Snarf’s and enjoy some great food in a lively, eclectic setting right here in the neighborhood.

Fewer Car Inspection Options
Do you need to get your annual vehicle inspection? Note that The Sticker Stop on 620 is permanently closed. The Jiffy Lube next door to it no longer provides inspections. However, the Jiffy Lube across from HEB on 620 has an inspector there each day from 8 am - 4 pm. Avoid going around lunchtime when the inspector takes a break.

Celebrate National Coffee Day, September 29
National Coffee Day is celebrated in the U.S. every September 29, marking the country’s first coffee shipment from Brazil in 1723. The day honors coffee farmers worldwide, highlights the importance of fair trade, and reminds us of coffee’s global roots. International Coffee Day follows on October 1, with many countries holding their own celebrations. Brazil and Vietnam lead global coffee production, while the U.S. and EU are top importers. Here at home, coffee is a daily ritual—nearly 80% of Americans drink it, averaging 1.2 cups a day, with most preferring regular hot coffee, often with sugar or cream.
