Wednesday and Thursday
- 🎾 Anderson Mill Neighborhood Association (AMNA) members and AMLD Court Keyholders can enjoy Open Play Pickleball on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm and Thursdays from 7-10pm. Just show up at the pickleball courts at Anderson Mill Park and play - no reservations required! This is a great way to meet your neighbors and get some movement in!
Saturday:
- 💞The Austin Police Department (APD) is hosting its 2nd annual Autism Awareness and Acceptance Event at 4101 S. Industrial Drive, 78744 at 10am on Saturday, May 3rd. This event will have complimentary tacos and an opportunity to learn how APD is keeping everyone safe, including those on the Autism spectrum and other disabilities. Click here for more information.
Sunday:
- 👩🏼🎨Join us on May 4th at 3pm at the corner of Millwright and Anderson Mill to celebrate our eye-catching and meaningful Seed Pod community art exhibit! Hear brief comments from the mosaic artist and our neighbor, Dianne Sonnenberg, sculptor Sun McColgin, representatives from Austin’s Art in Public Places program, our District 6 representative Krista Laine, AMLD Board President Katherine Hogle, and our AMNA President Carol Feist. We will re-dedicate this amazing piece of public art for our neighborhood by presenting a plaque to the talented artist, so this will be a joyous event!
Caution: Elevated Risk of Oak Wilt
- 🌲The Texas A&M Forest Service advises us that all oak trees in our area are susceptible to oak wilt, an infectious disease caused by a fungus. To reduce the risk of your tree contracting this deadly fungus, avoid pruning your trees before July 1st, paint over any cuts you do make, and never store infected red oaks for firewood use. For more information, check out their official literature here (it’s just one page)!
Who Is the Anderson Mill Neighborhood Association?
The Anderson Mill Neighborhood Association (AMNA) is a collection of volunteer residents who are working to coordinate events and communication to make our neighborhood a safe and vibrant place to live. We help coordinate events like National Night Out and the Community Yard Sale.
The Anderson Mill Limited District (AMLD) is the local government whose primary responsibilities are maintaining the parks in our neighborhood, collecting our trash, and enforcing our deed restrictions. They maintain our pools and operate amazing resources like the after-school programs at El Salido and our Senior Center on Millwright.
We look forward to continuing to work together to make Anderson Mill a wonderful place to live, work, and learn together!
