Hello Anderson Mill Neighbors!
Winter is on its way, and now is the perfect time for Anderson Mill homeowners to get ahead of the colder weather. The season can bring freezing temperatures, icy conditions, and the occasional surprise storm, so a little preparation goes a long way. From checking trees and insulating outdoor pipes to readying your heating system, small steps now can prevent big headaches later. For a helpful guide, be sure to review these Winter Weather Preparedness Tips!
Let’s Be Proactive: With Trees Around Power Lines
Longtime Anderson Mill residents remember the severe winter storms of 2021 and 2023, when heavy ice brought down tree limbs, damaged power lines, and left many of us without electricity for 3–6 days.

Let's get ahead of the problem this year.
Take a moment to look around your yard—are any tree branches getting a little too close to the power lines? If so, don’t try to trim them yourself. Your electric provider will handle it safely!
Anderson Mill has two electric service areas:
City of Austin (Millwright Pkwy to 183)
If you see tree limbs near a power line, call 512-322-6771 or request service online at austinenergy.com/go/trees.
Pedernales Electric Cooperative / PEC (Millwright Pkwy to 620)
Call 888-554-4732 (Mon–Fri, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.). A PEC utility forester will follow up and schedule a crew to clear the vegetation.
Reminder: Trimming trees near electrical equipment is extremely dangerous. Electricity can arc to tools, branches, or your body. Let the professionals handle it—stay safe this winter!
