Season’s Greetings from the Anderson Mill Neighborhood Association
As the year comes to a close, the Anderson Mill Neighborhood Association remains committed to making our community better and stronger for everyone who calls it home. We are grateful for the neighbors who step up, get involved, and help build the welcoming spirit that makes Anderson Mill such a special place to live.
We wish all of our neighbors peace, joy, and warmth this holiday season and in the year ahead. Strong communities don’t happen by accident — they are built one neighbor at a time. Your participation, ideas, and support are essential to continuing the work we do together.
Thank you for being part of our community. We look forward to building an even stronger Anderson Mill with you in the coming year.
Warm holiday wishes,
Your Anderson Mill Neighborhood Association 🎄
🙏🏽Your Community Needs Your Help in 2026
As we begin planning for 2026, the Anderson Mill Neighborhood Association (AMNA) is looking for community members who are interested in helping strengthen our neighborhood by volunteering in key roles next year. These positions are flexible, fun, and a great way to meet neighbors while making a positive impact.
We are seeking volunteers for the following roles:
- 📱Social Media Manager – Help keep our community informed about events, updates, and local news via social media. Key tasks: Create approximately 4 posts/month on Instagram, advertise our new social media presence via Nextdoor and via flyers/signs. Time commitment: 1 hour/month January - December 2026
- 🏷️Community Yard Sale Organizer (or Co-Organizer) – Coordinate dates, promotion, and logistics for the 2026 annual neighborhood yard sale. Key tasks: Pick the date, order signs to post around the neighborhood, monitor the registration form. Time commitment: 6 hours this spring.
- 🧺Family Picnic & Music in the Park Organizer (or Co-Organizer) – Help us plan and host a family-friendly gathering in a nearby park in spring 2026. Key tasks: Pick a date, reserve the pavilion, order and post signs, and line up 3 musical guests (we have leads on who to ask). Time commitment: 12 hours in spring 2026
- ⭐National Night Out Leader (or Co-Leader) – Organize our annual safety-focused block party in coordination with local first responders in October 2026. Key tasks: Place yard signs in the neighborhood, monitor the registration form, ask for sponsors to donate gift cards for party hosts. Time commitment: 10 hours in fall 2026.
- 🎒School Outreach Leader (or Co-Leader) – Connect with nearby schools and help build stronger relationships between AMNA and our educational partners. Key tasks: get the word out about the neighborhood association by asking Purple Sage, Anderson Mill, Grisham and Westwood to post our flyers in their e-newsletters 2x/year. Time commitment: 5 hours.
- ⁉️Choose Your Own Adventure – Gail wanted open play pickleball in our community, so she created the Pickleball Committee. Mandy wanted more trees in our community, so she created a Greenspaces Committee. What do YOU want in our community? AMNA can help you achieve your vision. Key tasks: You decide. Time commitment: You decide.
If you’re interested in any of these roles—or would like to learn more—please reply to greenspaces@andersonmillna.org.
